Bears Re-sign Nick Becton and Jacquizz Rodgers

LAKE FOREST, IL — The Chicago Bears re-signed RB Jacquizz Rodgers and T Nick Becton to one-year contracts.

Rodgers has logged 1,157 yards on 319 carries (3.6 avg), 1,114 yards on 156 catches (7.1 avg) and 10 total touchdowns (five rushing and five receiving) in 68 career games including five starts with the Atlanta Falcons (2011-14) and Chicago Bears (2015).

He has also returned 50 kickoffs for 1,192 yards (23.8 avg), recorded 11 special teams tackles and recovered one opponent muffed punt on special teams.

In his first season with the Bears in 2015, Rodgers carried the ball 14 times for 41 yards (2.9 ypc) and grabbed one reception for 10 yards, after appearing in five contests. He added four special teams tackles, a 15-yard kickoff return and recovered an opponent’s muffed punt. He missed the final 11 games after being placed on Injured Reserve due to an arm injury.

Becton has appeared in six games during his NFL career with San Diego (2013) and Chicago (2015).  He saw action in five contests with the Bears on special teams last season.
