Cowboys owner Jerry Jones hinted that Andre Holmes has emerged as the favorite to win the team’s #3 WR job. Jones said Holmes "really stood out" with a 3-catch, 40-yard performance in the preseason opener Monday night. Signed as an undrafted free-agent last year, Holmes spent his rookie season on the practice squad. But he’s made strides this offseason and has come on in practice of late. Holmes offers a 6’4, 223-pound frame and 4.5 speed. If he wins the #3 job, he’ll at least be worth late-round consideration in fantasy drafts. But he’d need an injury to Miles Austin or Dez Bryant to be a starting option.
