A Few of Reggie Kelly’s Thanksgiving Favorites

Thanksgiving Day is an American tradition. Like any holiday in the United States, it has been commemorated and remembered in a number of ways. NFL player and Pro Player Insider, Reggie Kelly took a few moments this week to share how he celebrates the holiday.

PPI: What is your favorite holiday memory?

Reggie: My favorite memory is the first Thanksgiving I shared with my wife [Shelia] in 1999, the year I was drafted.   We were newlyweds and spent the holiday together in our home in Suwanee, GA. We had a chance to eat some of our favorite dishes that we ate at home growing up.  It was not your traditional Thanksgiving meal, but Shelia prepared all our favorites, such as fried pork chops, fried catfish, green beans, corn, mac & cheese, cornbread and pecan pie with Kool-Aid.

PPI: What game are you looking forward to watching?

Reggie: The award that is given when the Cowboys and the Lions play and the MVP of each one of those games is given the Turkey Leg Award.

PPI:  What are thankful for this year?

Reggie:  Family, Health and most importantly my relationship with the Lord.

PPI:  How will you be celebrating your Thanksgiving?

Reggie:  We will be in Mississippi where our parents still live.  Our parents will all be cooking their favorite dishes and normal Thanksgiving items including mac & cheese with my KYVAN salsa in it, greens, fried turkey, pecan pies and we’ve yet to know what our parents will surprise us with!
