Matt Cassel lead the Chiefs down the field late in the fourth quarter to force overtime. Matt Cassel threw an interception that lead to Shaun Suisham’s game winning field goal as the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Chiefs, 16-13. It was what everyone expected when they tuned into Monday Night Football. Or it wasn’t.

The 1-7 Chiefs built a 10-0 lead in the first half with a touchdown by Jamaal Charles and a Ryan Succop field goal.

With 9:00 left in the second quarter the Steelers started their comeback. Shaun Suisham kicked the first of his two field goals and Roethlisberger hooked up with Mike Wallace for one of the season’s most memorable touchdown receptions. Wallace caught the ball between his knees and gained full possession while rolling over on his back.

Down by 3 points late in the fourth quarter the Chiefs stopped the Steelers on 3rd and short to force a punt. Matt Cassel and the Chiefs offense faced a fourth and 15 at their own 45 yard line with only a hand full of seconds remaining. Cassel connected with Dwayne Bowe down the seam and then spiked the ball in time to attempt a last second field goal. Succop tied the game with a 46 yard field goal to force overtime.

In overtime, Cassel was intercepted by Lawrence Timmons who returned the ball to the Chiefs 5 yard line. The Steelers immediately brought on Suisham who kicked the game’s winning field goal.

The story in Pittsburgh tomorrow is going to be the shoulder of Ben Roethlisberger. Jason LaCanfora of CBS Sports reported that a source told him that their is a lot of concern about the shoulder and that, “it does not look good.”

Next week, the Steelers (6-3) will host the Ravens on Sunday Night Football, and the Chiefs (1-8) will host the Bengals.
