The Seattle Seahawks survived a shaky start from their quarterback to do just enough to defeat the Carolina Panthers, 16-12.
Russell Wilson was intercepted 2 times including an interception by the Panthers Captain Munnerlyn that was returned 33 yards for a touchdown to give the home team a 10-6 lead. Wilson bounced back and found Golden Tate in the end zone at the end of the quarter to give his team a 13-10 lead.
Steven Hauschka added three field goals for the Seahawks.
Cam Newton struggled all day passing for only 141 yards on 29 attempts. The Panthers also had the ball at Seattle’s 1 yard line with a first down and a chance to take the lead late in the fourth quarter. The Seahawks defense provided the goal line stand and the Panthers never came close again.
Next week, the Seahawks (3-2) host the Patriots and the Panthers (1-4) are on a bye.
