Robert Griffin III was playing his first game in Dallas, his first game on Thanksgiving and wasn’t phased by it even one bit. Griffin and the Washington Redskins offense scored 35 of the games first 48 points and then held off a furious Dallas Cowboys rally to win, 38-31.
Griffin was 20 of 28 throwing for 311 yards and had four touchdown passes to four different receivers. It was the second straight week that Griffin threw four touchdowns. Alfred Morris took care of the ground game rushing for 113 yards and a touchdown.
Tony Romo took the field today undefeated on Thanksgiving. With his team down 35-13 late in the third quarter, Romo did everything he could to rally his team to victory. Romo passed for a career high 441 yards and had three touchdown passes.
Midway through the fourth quarter, Romo hooked up with Dez Bryant in the end zone to covert a huge fourth down and to bring the Cowboys within 7 points of the suddenly reeling Redskins. After kicking the ball back to the Redskins, the Cowboys defense couldn’t get off the field to give Romo a chance to finish off the comeback. The Redskins got three huge first downs and extended their lead to ten points with a game sealing field goal.
Next week, the Redskins (5-6) will host the Giants on Monday Night Football and the Cowboys (5-6) will host the punchless Philadelphia Eagle.
