Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reports that an MRI on Monday revealed that Ray Lewis completely tore his right triceps muscle and will miss the rest of the season.
The heart and soul of the Ravens defense is clearly not the player he was a decade ago, but was still the leader in tackles and is the ultimate leader of the team. While his leadership on the field will be missed, his leadership off the field will remain.
However, it’s fair to ask the question, has the future Hall of Famer played his final game as a Raven or his final game of his career?
There was already talk that this could be Lewis’ final season before the injury and his injury will make it even harder for him to recover from. Lewis is owed a $5.4 million dollar salary in 2013 and will turn 38 in May.
Now to replace Lewis the Ravens will turn to either Dannell Ellerbe or Jameel McClain.
