Oklahoma University on Thursday announced that Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has pledge to give the school $1 million dollars. According to the university, this is the largest hat a former football player has given its athletic department.
Peterson stated that he has been considering the donation for a long time. Peterson last played for the Sooners in 2006 and was drafted seventh overall in the 2007 National Football League Draft.
The money is to go to construction of a new student housing facility and to establish a football scholarship endowment in his name.
