NFL Trade Deadline Has Been Moved Due to Hurricane Sandy

While Hurricane Sandy makes her way towards land, the country braces for the worst.

As far as the NFL is concerned, the NFL Offices closed Monday and Tuesday and many other NFL Clubs making similar arrangements NFL Spokesman Greg Aiello announced that the league has decided to move the NFL Trade Deadline from Tuesday 4pm Eastern time to Thursday 4pm Eastern Time.

Business will continue remotely when possible, but a potential power loss as well as flooding issues in New York City could put the league at a standstill, especially if any transactions from teams would need approval from the league.

The New York Jets have already given the team a week off to be with their families since they are heading into their bye week. Similar teams who are in Hurricane Sandy’s path that are not on a bye are making other arrangements to deal with this historic storm.

The impact of the storm moving the trade deadline a few more days back could provide an advantage for teams looking to evaluate their players and trade offers more carefully.
