The New England Patriots dominated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-20, as quarterback Tom Brady got back in a groove with his two favorite wideouts.
Brady finished the game 24 of 34 for 361 yards and 3 TDs, with no INTS. Both Wes Welker and Deion Branch caught for over 100 yards – Welker grabbed 8 catches for 115 yards and 2 TDs while Branch had 6 receptions for 125 yards.
Vince Young racked up 400 yards passing as he got his second start in relief of injured Michael Vick. Young finished 26 of 48 for 400 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT.
Desean Jackson was benched in the fourth quarter of the game after a late game dropped pass. Head coach Andy Reid indicated that Jackson has to do a better job, so the strained relationship between Jackson and the Eagles coaching staff continues to worsen.
Jackson has been the Eagles biggest playmaker the last two seasons, but since they Eagles have refused to extend his contract for this year, the situation has deteriorated. The Eagles spent freely to bring in a variety of free agents, but have refused to extend Jackson contract. This year, he is paid $600,000 in the last year of his rookie contract, making less than the Eagles long-snapper.
