I have no idea if the Kansas City Chiefs and Carolina Panthers should have played on Sunday in the wake of the tragedy that occured in the parking lot at Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday. All I know, if that they did play the game and the Chiefs defeated the Panthers 27-21.
Brady Quinn completed 19 of his 23 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns. Quinn also avoided the interceptions that have plagued his NFL career.
Cam Newton also played well for the Panthers passing for 232 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 78 yards.
After the game, players from both teams gathered on the field to pray for the lives affected by Saturday’s tragedy. It couldn’t have been easy to play that game today and I give all of the players credit for giving it their all.
Next week, the Chiefs (2-10) will travel to Cleveland to play the Browns, and the Panthers will host the Falcons.
