Fly like a “Byrd”. FS Jairus Byrd was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week by the NFL today. In Sunday’s win against the Arizona Cardinals, Byrd led the Bills to a 19-16 OT victory with an interception and 29-yard return to set-up a 25-yard game-winning overtime field goal by Rian Lindell.
Byrd posted two interceptions on the day, to go along with four tackles including a tackle for loss and two passes defensed. Sunday marked Byrd’s fourth career multi-interception game and is tied for the league-lead in interceptions with three on the season.
