Bears head coach Lovie Smith is keeping Jay Cutler’s status for Monday night’s game against the 49ers close to the vest, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Cutler suffered a concussion during a matchup with the Houston Texans this past Sunday night, but coach Smith is keeping a tight wrap on the quarterback’s status.
“Jay is getting better,” Lovie Smith said. “I am not going to go into exactly each step he has taken and things like that, and I think you can understand why. We will be on the practice field (Thursday). We can give you a little bit better idea of where he is then.”
This is the third concussion Cutler has suffered in his career; however, Smith didn’t seem overly concerned with the number his quarterback has suffered.
“I am just worried about the one that he had the other night,” Lovie Smith said. “Can’t look into the future or anything like that. Every case is different. Jay’s feeling a whole lot better. I just know that. It will all play out.”
