New York Magazine reports that actor Kevin Costner will star in a fictional movie called “Draft Day”. According to New York Magazine, the NFL may allow the Buffalo Bills to be used in a new film by Paramount Pictures.
The premise for the film is Kevin Costner stars as a GM for the Buffalo Bills with the first overall pick in the draft and he turns that draft pick into a series of trades that will improve the team’s lackluster roster. At the same time, the fictional Bills GM must deal with personal family baggage of his own as well a romantic courtship.
If approved it would be the first film to have the NFL’s blessing to use official team names and logos since 2006 when actor Mark Wahlberg starred as walk-on legend Vince Papale of the Philadelphia Eagles in “Invincible”.
This marks the first football movie for Kevin Costner after starring in several baseball classics like “Bull Durham”, “For the Love of the Game” and “Field of Dreams”.
