49ers Extend Lee

San Francisco 49ers punter Andy Lee had a career year last year for the team and for that the 49ers have rewarded him with a contract extension.

The 49ers announced today that the team has signed Lee to a six-year extension. According to Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com, the deal is to average around $4 million a year.

Lee averaged a National Football League best 50.9 yards per a punt with his longest being 68 yards last year.  Lee has been with the 49ers since they drafted him in the 6th round of the 2004 NFL Draft and will be 30-years-old in August. That means this could possibly be Lee’s last contract as he will be 36-years-old when it expires after the 2018 season.
