The Atlanta Falcons made 2012 a memorable year by posting a 13-3 record this season, which happens to be there 3rd best in franchise history. This ties the 2010 season and only falling short to the 1998 Falcons team who finished with a 14-2 record.
The Falcons start 2013 with the hopes of getting there first playoff win under coach Mike Smith. They plan to finish it up with the ultimate goal …a Super Bowl win.
The Falcons staff is also making a splash with offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter being pursued by 3 teams for a head coaching position. David Caoldwell is getting attention for some open GM jobs, while defensive coordinator Mike Nolan will interview for the head coaching job with the Eagles. More teams look to have the success the Falcons have had with rebuilding. Though they have struggled with winning in previous playoffs, teams can not argue since rebuilding in 2008, the falcons have been winning. The addition of coach Mike Smith and QB Matt Ryan has been a major key to these victories.
