The Buffalo Bills selected Alabama defensive lineman Marcell Dareus with the No. 3 pick in the NFL draft.
Analysis: Buffalo desperately needs a quarterback and likely would have taken Cam Newton had he still been there. But they apparently decided that Missouri QB Blaine Gabbert was too much of a reach here given their defensive needs and the quality of quarterback expected to be available at the top of the second round. The Bills had their eye on Von Miller, but when he went No. 2 overall, they took a lineman who could be their new nose tackle or play either defensive end spot in their 3-4 defense.
