Having traded down out of the No. 6 spot earlier in the night, the Cleveland Browns traded back up six spots, sending the 27th overall pick and a third-round pick to the Kansas City Chiefs for the No. 21 overall pick, with which they took Baylor defensive tackle Phil Taylor.
Analysis: It remains to be seen what kind of defense Cleveland’s new coaching staff will run, but Taylor can play the nose tackle in a 3-4 or an interior line spot in a 4-3, so he gives them options assuming he can pick up whatever scheme they choose. There’s some question about stamina with a man Taylor’s size (334 pounds), but the Browns need to add size and toughness on the defensive lines in the physical AFC North, and Taylor has a chance to do that if they can keep him on the field.
