Bears Trade Up to Take Paea at No. 53

The Chicago Bears traded their second-round pick and a fourth-round pick to the Washington Redskins for the 21st pick in the second round of the NFL draft, with which they took Oregon State defensive tackle Stephen Paea.

Analysis: The Bears obviously loved the big-bodied Paea enough to move up to get him. He’ll slot into their defensive line rotation, where they need help at nose tackle. The Redskins got this pick from Indianapoolis for the 49th pick, which they got from Jacksonville for their first-round pick, and Washington’s next pick is now the 62nd overall — unless they trade down again!
