Seattle, WA- Determination, motivation, and inspiration have inspired many athletes to define the rejections, hardships, and the many closed doors that they face reaching their dreams, but it starts with having faith.
Tim Roberts who played at Buffalo is hungry to prove people wrong. Growing up Roberts watched his parents struggle to make ends meet, but they kept fighting and made sure that their family had what they needed. After watching his parents struggle, Roberts decided that he would do whatever it took to make his family proud. “I have wanted this dream all my life, and I have my family that have supported me. I understand that in order to be successful, you have to take risks and outwork other people to get there. While other people are out having a social life, I am out there grinding.”
Roberts feels that he has an advantage with being able to play in harsh weather because he has been playing outside majority of his career. “I feel like playing outdoors, I have an advantage over other players because it is something that others can not take. It is a difference between playing indoors, where the weather does not impact you, as it does when you are playing outside.”
Roberts feels like obsession is something that separates him from other players because he will do whatever it takes to make it happen. “I eat, sleep, and dream the NFL. Football is something I am very passionate about, so to have a chance of getting coaches to look at me with high profile organizations would be an honor and an accomplishment to me.”
Roberts’ goals in Pro Day is to dominate and make the coaches aware that he will be a factor with being a good fit for an organization that needs him and his talents.
Roberts’ goals throughout Pro Day will be benching 225, getting a 4.5 or lower in his 40, and getting 36-37 in vertical. “These are my goals and I know I can go out there and accomplish them.”
With Pro Day around the corner and the confidence that this young man has, he has inspired many people in his community.
