SEATTLE — Former Eagles’ QB Michael Vick had some insight and encouraging words for the Philadelphia Eagles’ players and the organization going into the ring as the underdogs in the Super Bowl.
“Play your game, have fun, and just remember going to the Super Bowl is a big accomplishment. Many players do not get the opportunity to go out there and be showcased during the Super Bowl.” When Vick was asked about how the Eagles’ organization deserving a ring, he stated, “This community has been great. They have a great foundation, fans, and they deserve everything that they have built.”
As a QB, the Eagles shaped Vick into a dangerous attacker through the air, MVP candidate, and a player that could tear some defenses apart. He took them to two playoff appearances, but as time prevailed and father time took its course on the “Fastest man that played QB”, Vick found a desire to do some sports broadcasting this past season and enjoyed every part of it. “As a former player, I can give the audience inside coverage on what plays are happening, sometimes how QB’s are feeling, and just break down defense schemes, I enjoyed every part of it and would want more experience with being in front of the camera.”
Outside of sports, Vick has dedicated his time and effort to help out his community by giving back and just letting people know that they can overcome obstacles in their life to become a better person. “It is a blessing that I can give back to my community.”
The Eagles’ organization was the only team that took a chance on him after his mishaps in life and he learned from that mistake. A lot of individuals have not forgiven him, but Vick does not pay attention to any of the negative comments, he just goes out there and try to impact the world in a positive way.
In Philadelphia they are known to be the city of brotherly love and the support that Vick has for the Eagles is truly the mark of a brother that will always love this organization.
