Buffalo Bills receiver Marcus Easley recently received the prestigious honor of being inducted into his high school’s football hall of fame. Easley was inducted the Athletics Hall of Fame during the 21st annual Burnell High School Athletics Hall of Fame & Senior Athlete Recognition Banquet in Stratford, Connecticut. Easley was presented the award by his high school football coach, Craig Bruno.
“It’s a real distinguished group of athletes,” Easley told the Buffalo Bills’ official blog. “To be recognized, to leave a legacy, and to know that people can read about me 50, even 60 years down the line means everything to me.”
After high school, Easley went on to play college football at the University of Connecticut where he played his first 3 years as a walk on, and emerged his senior year as the team’s best receiver. Easley had 49 receptions for 439 years and 8 touchdowns his senior season with the Huskies.
Easley was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the fourth round 107th overall of the 2010 NFL draft. He has been plagued by injuries during his career, and missed the entire 2011 season due to a heart condition. In 2012, Easley was cut by the Bills, and was then signed to the team’s practice squad and participated in three games.
Marcs Easley is one of the most accomplished alumni of Bunell High School and will have a plaque that will be on display with the rest of the members of the Hall of Fame.
