Washington Redskins’ defensive end Adam Carriker, who was placed on injured reserve in September, is no stranger to the world-wide phenomenon known as Twitter. Except, he generally tweets about professional wrestling and the different happenings at Redskins’ park. He’s a funny guy.
But this time, he sent a tweet that went “left” rather quick. Here’s the tweet (which he later deleted):
“Tony Romo, Michael Vick, and Eli Manning walk into a bar…. to watch the playoffs.”
Now, I mean, it’s not like others haven’t tweeted similar tweets after the Redskins were crowned NFC East champs. But it will be viewed a tad differently when a player says/tweets something like that. Former New York Giants’ great, Micheal Strahan took offense to it:
@AdamCarriker94 “Get the ring first my man! All respect but don’t talk smack before the ring is on the finger!” #friendlyadvice
Strahan went on to comment on another tweet from a fan calling him “mad.” Of course, because Strahan was once a teammate of the aformentioned, Eli Manning.
Strahan responded – “Not mad at all but you gotta be humble! Pride is always before the fall. I got mine so I’m far from mad! Lol.”
Strahan has a point, but I’m sure Carriker didn’t intend for that tweet to go downhill like that. Hence, Carriker deleting it. Like former coach and ESPN analyst Herm Edwards’ said – “Think before you press SEND!”
