Fantasy Week 9 Trenches or Benches

Fantasy Week 9:
Trenches or Benches

Week 8 Review

QB:

Upside Play: Tony Romo: Romo gave us a monster week. Despite throwing 3 early picks and 4 total, that actually ended up benefiting us and allowed Romo to play catch up an amass 437 yards passing and 2 Td’s

Upside Play: Carson Palmer: Palmer didn’t put up the passing yards that we hoped for, but was able to throw for 2 Td’s.

Sleeper: Sam Bradford: Bradford started off with a bang with an early Td bomb to Chris givens and looke dwell on his way to having a nice game. However the Rams were outscored 45-0 the rest of way. Bradford was disappointing only throwing for 205 and the one score.

RB:

Upside Play: Ahmad Bradshaw: Bradshaw ran for 78 yards but was held out of the endzone. His rushing TD was vultured away by backup Andre Brown.

Upside Play: LeShon McCoy: McCoy only had 67 total yards but was able to find paydirt both on the ground and through the air, giving him 2 scores for the day.

Bust: Browns Running backs: We had you stay away from Trent Richardson as it appeared he was pretty banged up. Poor weather conditions kept the ball on the ground and a healthy Richardson amassed 134 total yards and a TD.

WR:

Upside Play: Randall Cobb: Cobb, Rodgers and the rest of the “Pack” were held surprisingly quiet by the Jags. Cobb grabbed 5 passes and a Td, but was held to only 28 yards on the day.

Upside Play: Miles Austin: Austin had a big game against the “G” Men, totally 9 receptions for 133 yards, joing teammates Jason Witten and Dez Bryant going over the century mark.

Slepper: Devonn Bess: An injury to Ryan Tannehill and a surprising rout of the Jets contributed to a quiet day for Bess. The dolphin receiver was held to 4 catches and 28 yards on the day.

TE:

Upside Play: Antonio Gates: Mother nature did her best to hold Gates and the passing game at bay. The veteran tight end could repeat his performance last time out and he was held to 2 receptions for 14 yards.

Sleeper: Brandon Pettigrew: Pettigrew was involved nicely in the passing game Week * and joined teammate Titus Young in helping the Lions in victory over the Seahawks.
Pettigrew almost produced exactly as predicted, going for 7 catches and 74 yards.

Week 9 Picks:

QB:

Upside Play: Michael Vick: Vick is a high risk, high reward play this week. Its produce or continue to hear the call for backup Nick Foles. I think Vick gets it done this week against against a Saint defense that continues to give it up. Vick goes for 250 in the air and 50 on the ground and 3 scores.

Upside Play: Andrew Luck: Luck is home where all he does is produce 300 yard game. I see that trend continuing with another 300 yard performance and 2 scores.

Sleeper: Jay Cutler: Not too long ago that Cutler wouldn’t be considered a sleeper but a must start. Well look for Cutler to get back to the Cutler of old this week against a bad Titans defense. 300 yards and 2 scores.

RB:

Upside Play: Reggie Bush: Bush will become the latest running back to run it up on the Colts. Expect 100 total yards and a score and 4-5 receptions from Bush.

Sleeper: Pierre Thomas: Thomas benefits more so from playing time and opportunity.
With Darren Sproles out, look for Thomas to capitalize. He should get amble touches which will help him get over 100 total yards and a score.

WR:

Upside Play: Antonio Brown: Brown should find plenty of room in the Giants seconday. With teammate Mike Wallace getting a lot of attention, Brown grabs 8 balls for over 100 yards and a TD.

WR:

Upside Play: Jeremy Maclin: Maclin benefits from a high scoring game and plenty of opportunity. Count on 7 catches 90 yards and a TD.

Sleeper: Brandon Lafell: The Skins D’angelo Hall will look to take a way the Panthers Steve Smith. Lafell will find some daylight and look for RG3 to bring out the best in Cam Newton.

TE:

Upside Play: Jermichael Finley: If Finley wants to salvage his season, he’d better get going soon. This could be the week he finally breaks out and finds the end zone.

Sleeper: Dwayne Allen: Allen gets the start with Coby Fleener out a few weeks. Look for Luck to get Allen involved especially in the red zone. If you need a bye week replacement, Allen can help. I expect 50 yards and a score.
