With the NFL’s Trade Deadline moved to October 30th, the St. Louis Rams are taking advantage of the extra time by shopping Rams players in the hopes of gaining more draft picks according to Mike Lombardi of the NFL Network.
While Lombardi didn’t name any names, the name that sticks out the most is running back Steven Jackson, who already knows he won’t be back next year as the Rams are willing to let him walk. With Isaiah Pead and Daryl Richardson improving the Rams want to try to get something for Jackson before they let him walk for nothing.
In the 2012 Draft the Rams traded away the 2nd overall draft pick to the Washington Redskins who picked Robert Griffin III, in return received three first-round picks and a second-round pick in future drafts. But Rams coach Jeff Fisher is looking for more as they are building for the long-term.
The Rams are currently at 3-3 and are right in the middle of the race for a possible wild-card berth where anything can happen once you get into the postseason.
