US District Judge Susan Nelson has scheduled a hearing on August 10 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to discuss the pending case filed against the NFL and the NFLPA by a group of retired players led by Carl Eller.
The suit alleges that they were improperly left out of labor talks. Judy Battista of the New York Times has also reported that lawyer Michael Hausfeld, on behalf of the Eller group, sent a letter to the National Labor Relations Board. The letter alleges that the players association negotiated on issues related to retiree benefits without the authority to do so.
In connection with the litigation, several Hall of Fame players have informed ProPlayerInsiders that they were misled by Eller and that their names were used without their approval.
