The Panthers have signed K Olindo Mare to a 4-year contract worth $12 million. The deal includes a $4 million dollar signing bonus. Carolina is no doubt overpaying for a league average kicker, but they have the cap space to do it. John Kasay — who has kicked for Carolina since 1995 — will be released. Without a successor in place, the Seahawks will be in the market for a kicker. Free agent David Akers would give them a sizable upgrade.
