Eagles DeSean Jackson Looks Sharp in Return

All Pro wide receiver DeSean Jackson returned to the field on Saturday, bringing back one of the key playmakers for the team that has quickly become a trendy preseason Super Bowl pick.

Jackson was back for his first full practice in pads since he ended his training camp holdout, and he didn’t look the slightest bit rusty from his time away from the team during the lockout and his holdout. He caught practically everything thrown near him and provided a huge boost to the Eagles first team offense.

Tight end Clay Harbor remarked, “That was fun to watch. He came out today and looked like he didn’t miss a beat. Caught the ball well, showed his great burst — it was exciting to see him back out there. It really brought a lift to the offense.”

Eagles wide receiver Chad Hall commented, ““He’s as fast as ever. Maybe faster.” That should be a scary concept for the rest of the league.

“It felt good to get back in the swing of things,” Jackson said to the AP. “My teammates (were) happy to have me back.” The fans were happy to have him back, too, and broke into a chant of “Pay DeSean” at one point during practice.

“My legs [were] feeling good, and I’m feeling fresh … just ready to get back out there and contribute.”

During the offseason, the Eagles added Nnamdi Asomugha and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie to a secondary that already included Asante Sammuel, providing Jackson with the opportunity to line up against one of the best defensive backfields in the league every week in practice.

“For a wide receiver, it’s honestly good for myself going against Nnamdi, Cromartie, Asante,” Jackson said on CSNPhilly.com. “It really doesn’t get any better than that with top three corners like that.”
