Bengals WR A.J. Green suffered a Grade 3 shoulder sprain near the end of the 1st half of Sunday’s game against the Rams. He returned in the 2nd half but was clearly limited. Green says that he’ll play next weekend, but that decision will be made by the team. We’ll have updates throughout the week.
Broncos RB Willis McGahee appeared to tweak his hamstring early in Sunday’s game against the Patriots. He spent most of the rest of the day on the trainer’s table or the sidelines. McGahee finished with just 7 carries, although he did take them for 70 yards. We’d guess that he’ll be fine for Week 16, but check back tomorrow for an update.
Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson had a rough start to the season, and was playing better, but suffered a sprained ankle this weekend. He had logged three 130+ yard games in the last five weeks going into this weekend. He has 930 yards and 4 TDs this season. Coach Mike Munchak said tests were negative. “He’ll be questionable this week, but we saw him (Monday) and we don’t think there’s any reason he’ll be out for the game,” Munchak said. “But he is definitely sore, so we’ll see how he is this week.”
“He is a little sorer than I thought,” Munchak said, “but not something (trainers) are concerned about.”
Bills WR Stevie Johnson appeared to suffer a groin injury late in the 4th quarter of Sunday’s game against the Dolphins. HC Chan Gailey said afterwards that Johnson’s status won’t be updated until Tuesday.
Bears WR Johnny Knox had to be carted off the field Sunday after being bent backwards by Seahawks S Kam Chancellor. He’ll undergo surgery on Monday to stabilize a vertebra in his back. He’s obviously done for the season, but it’s still unclear if this will impact his status for 2012.
Seahawks WR Mike Williams suffered a fractured ankle in Sunday’s game against the Bears. He’s done for the year.
Giants TE Jake Ballard sprained his knee near the end of the 1st half of Sunday’s game against the Redskins. He tried to get back on the field for a couple plays in the 3rd quarter but spent the rest of the game on the sidelines. We should get an update on the severity of the sprain on Monday.
