New England Patriots punter Zoltan Mesko went to war with Santa today. At the end of a TV interview on some of the charity work that the Patriots were involved with, Mesko made an off-hand remark saying that he stopped making his Christmas list after “learning” that there was no Santa.
Mesko later came clean on the remark, admitting on Twitter that, “I’d like to apologize for lying for the first time on television on @fox25news tonight and saying that Santa wasn’t real. Santa IS REAL!!!!”
He has also reworked his Twitter page, including the Zoltan Elf photo shown below, and tagging himself as “officially Santa’s little helper for the Christmas Season.”
What prompted a change of heart? And what prompted his statement in the first place? Unconfirmed sources explain the turnaround on his Grinch-sized heart, that was two sizes too small, growing three sizes in a single day.
