PPI: How did you feel about you invitation to the AstroTurf Bowl?
P.T.: It was a good feeling; coming out here meeting new people, and getting the chance to socialize with people from all over and building a network.
PPI: What has been you inspiration to excel in football?
P.T.: I say my family [has been my inspiration]. Growing up, I never had a silver spoon in my mouth, and understand what it means to struggle. I had to work hard for everything that I got, and [my ethic] will never stop; I am still going to keep working hard. I just want to show my family that [I will make it]. I am starving to make it – and when I do, I want to give back to my community. It feels good to give back.
We did community service [at Midnight Mission in Downtown Los Angeles. It was a good feeling. People were smiling and I liked to seem them smile—it showed they were having a good time and [still saw] life as enjoyable! It was good to socialize with those people and let them know that we are there for them and will find a way to give back no matter what.
PPI: Do you have any other favorite moments from being in LA?
P.T.: A few of the guys and I got the chance to experience Downtown L.A. We went to the Kobe Store underneath (the Staples Center) and were invited to the VIP section where we got to see all of his product. I think that was pretty cool.
PPI: As far as the actual bowl game, what were your expectations and goals?
P.T.: I want[ed] to [go out there] and show the scouts that I’m good and ready for the next level. I’ve been playing football all my life. I’ve got good football IQ — I catch on quick. I’m willing to learn any [position]: special teams—If the coach wanted me to play Center, I’d do anything to help my team win.
