Maybe we were too quick to write off Jaguars QB Blaine Gabbert. The 2nd-year signal-caller looked like a seasoned vet against the Saints last night. Gabbert racked up 112 yards with 2 TDs and 0 INTs in 1 half of action. He completed 13 of 16 passes. Through 2 exhibition contests, he’s sitting on a 69% completion rate, a 6.7 yards-per-attempt average, and 3 TDs vs. 0 INTs. Now, the operative word there is "exhibition." Gabbert is facing "vanilla" defenses — standard coverages with simple blitzes. We’re nowhere close to feeling comfortable with him as a fantasy option. But Gabbert is at least showing the ability to get the ball to his receivers. That’s good news for Justin Blackmon and Laurent Robinson. Blackmon hauled in 4 balls for 48 yards a score in his debut last night.
