Lions 27 Rams 23

Matthew Stafford struggled through one of his worst days as a pro before picking himself off the matt and throwing a 5 yard touchdown pass to Kevin Smith with only seconds remaining to give the Lions a dramatic opening day victory.

The Rams had two different fourth quarter leads but could not hold on and score the upset victory.  Sam Bradford threw a fourth quarter touchdown pass to give the Rams a 20-13 lead with about ten minutes remaining and then lead the team down the field for what appeared to be a game winning field goal by Greg Zuerlein inside the two minute warning.

The Lions got two touchdowns from Kevin Smith and Calvin Johnson had his usual 100+ yard performance.

Next week, the Lions will travel to San Francisco to play the 49ers on Sunday night football and the Rams will play their home opener against the Redskins.
