Prime Real Estate in Matt Flynn

All of the talks this offseason has been about the Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning, where will he go, will the Colts drop him, what if he stays. But the fact of the matter is that one player this season had a one day audition and nailed it, that would be Green Bay backup quarterback Matt Flynn.

It was clearly shown in his game against the defensive powerhouse Detroit Lions that Flynn has the leadership, arm, and skills to play at a high performance. Out of all of the Hall of Fame and future Hall of Fame quarterbacks that the Packers have bred, Flynn holds their single game passing record at 480 with 6 touchdowns. Flynn has been able to have a 62.1 completion percentage throughout his career.

In a race for the top two draft picks in the 2012 Draft being Stanford’s Andrew Luck and Baylor’s Robert Griffin III, teams like the Rams and Vikings who have already made decisions on their future at quarterback, have prime real estate to give up their picks to teams in need. This could affect not only the outcome of this draft, but also where Free Agents like Matt Flynn and Chad Henne will end up. There have been rumors of the Cleveland Browns being interested in a player like Flynn, but with Colt McCoy starting to take over the reins, the chances look slimmer as each day passes.
