Jack Del Rio has been fired as head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to Chris Mortensen of ESPN. The Jaguars have been a disappointing 3-8 this season, and plan to officially announce the move at a news conference today at noon.
Jags owner Wayne Weaver made it clear that there were high expectations going into this season. “If we’re not in the playoffs, it’s pretty apparent we’ll have a different coach,” Weaver said in January.
Mel Tucker is expected to be the interim coach.
