Michael Bennett will be heading to Philly

Seattle, WA- Michael Bennett’s time with the Seahawks have finally taken its course, as of Wednesday, Bennett was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles to free up some salary cap space for the Seahawks.

Bennett was one of many pieces that was the heart and soul of the Seahawks’ defense and father time count up with him and what the Seahawks are trying to do with their defense. However before Bennett leaves his Seahawks’ legacy behind and moves forward with the Eagles, he wrote what it meant to be a Seahawks’ player. “Dear Seattle, #12s, you have meant so much to me and my family! I thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

“First and foremost I want to thank my wife and family, for always supporting me and helping guide me in every situation. My wife is the backbone of our family and I am truly blessed to have her and our three daughters.I, of course, want to thank Paul Allen, Pete Carroll, John Schneider, Peter McLoughlin, Erik Kennedy and Mo Kelly for bringing me to the Seahawks and giving me the opportunity to help bring Seattle their first Championship. My teammates. My brothers! More important than any championship or ring are the relationships I have made with the men in that locker room. We experienced marriages, births, deaths, and everything in between, and those are moments I will cherish forever.”

Bennett was the voice of integrity, stature, and heart, which will be missed. However moving into his next assignment with the Eagles,  he could possibly put the Eagles’ defense back into the top 5 next season. Bennett has a lot in the tank and has shown it over the years. In his career, he has  293 tackles and 54 sacks. He has had at least seven sacks in five of the past six seasons.

With so much left to prove, Michael will be a great fit with the Eagle. He has leadership skills, fast feet, knows how to attack his opponents, and will fight for his beliefs on and off the field. With a team that believes in faith, this should be home for Bennett.
