Seattle, WA- As Pro day is getting closer, Tre Herndon is pretty excited for the moment he can show coaches what he is really made of. Herndon’s dream could become a reality if does well during the Pro Day.
“I am pretty excited. I have been training for this my whole life, so I am ready.” With a positive support system with his family and his teammates, Herndon has been able to become a better leader, role model, and a person that is hungry to achieve success. He is an all-around player that a lot of coaches look for when they are looking for defensive backs. He is quick on his feet, has very great ball awareness, and tackles pretty well, but he knows that he has to improve with breaking on the ball. “I feel like I am an all-around player, but I know that I need to improve on things,” said Herndon.
Football has impacted Herndon in a big way. It got him ready to deal with adversity and having to have short-term memory at his position. “In life, you have to go through obstacles in your life to make you grow from it In my position, I can not focus on the past, but only worry about the next play and how can I make a big play. You have to take the bad with the good and just go with it,” said Herndon
Herndon had to overcome obstacles in his life, such as his parents divorcing, which was something big to him. He had to make sure his siblings were good and making sure that all of them were making productive progress in school, as well as being the leader that they have become. Outside of football, Herndon still goes to his high school to mentor to the youth, and upcoming players about staying focus on your dreams. “You have to have tunnel vision, work hard, and never let anyone define your dream.”
As Pro Day approaches Herndon wants to make a big impact on the coaches and if it was possible, he would love to work in a 3-4 scheme, but right now, he is focused on making his dream happen.
