Miami Dolphins Ndamukong Suh and Cameron Wake have been selected to start for the AFC in the 2017 Pro Bowl

On Tuesday, the NFL announced the players that were selected to the 2016 Pro Bowl and the Miami Dolphins had two players that could be heading to Orlando for the league’s All-Star game. To no one’s surprise, those two players were Ndamukong Suh and Cameron Wake.

After missing the Pro Bowl for the first time last season, Suh makes his return to the NFL’s All-Star Game. Through 14 games, Suh has 62 tackles, five sacks.

Suh currently ranks in the top five in tackles and he is in the top seven in sacks by an interior lineman. This is the fifth time Suh has been selected to the Pro Bowl. Suh said he is happy that the fans, players and coaches selected him to the Pro Bowl once again.

“It’s always an honor to be selected to the Pro Bowl,” Suh said. “I will always take great pride of the respect and acknowledgment from the coaches and peers, but nothing beats knowing that you have the fan’s support. “

Wake has had a comeback season for the ages. After tearing his Achilles last season, which prematurely ended his 2015 season, Wake has 25 tackles (19 solo), 10.5 sacks, five forced fumbles and an interception. He is fifth in the AFC and tied for eighth in the NFL.

This will also be the fifth Pro Bowl selection for Wake and as he said, the one of the most gratifying of his career.

“Aside from the first one, this one is probably the most meaningful, especially because of the situation that happened last year being cut short and having to work tremendously hard all the way from last December until now,” Wake said. “To be able to be back on the field and help my team win, it means a lot to me. It shows all the hard work, the late nights, all the pain and suffering makes it all worthwhile. I know my family and support system – the people who got me through all the hard times – really appreciate this honor.”

Both Suh and Wake have led the Dolphins defense all season long as the team is 9-5 as they have a chance to make its first playoff appearance since 2008.

The 2017 Pro Bowl will be on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017 and simulcast live on ESPN and ESPN Deportes from Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. Fans may visit NFL.com/ProBowlOnSale to purchase game tickets.
