The NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS, who host Buffalo tomorrow night on Monday Night Football, can also reach 10-0. That would mark the fourth time in NFL history there have been multiple 10-0 teams in a season (1934, 1990, 2009).Entering 2015, 15 teams started a season 10-0 during the Super Bowl era. Of those 15 clubs, all 15 made the playoffs, nine advanced to the Super Bowl and six of those teams won the Super Bowl.· Carolina quarterback CAM NEWTON tied the franchise single-game record with five touchdown passes (STEVE BEUERLEIN, January 2, 2000) in the Panthers’ win over Washington. Newton, who now has 102 passing touchdowns and 39 rushing touchdowns, is the only player in NFL history with at least 100 passing touchdowns and 25 rushing touchdowns in his first five seasons.· Tampa Bay rookie quarterback JAMEIS WINSTON threw five touchdown passes and running back DOUG MARTIN rushed for 235 yards in the Buccaneers’ 45-17 win at Philadelphia. The Buccaneers are the first team in NFL history to have a quarterback with at least five touchdown passes and a running back with at least 200 rushing yards in a road game.Winston is the second rookie quarterback in NFL history to have five touchdown passes and no interceptions in a game, joining RAY BUIVID, who accomplished the feat on December 5, 1937 for the Chicago Bears.Winston, who threw four touchdown passes in the first half, joined Tennessee’s MARCUS MARIOTA (Week 1) as the only rookie quarterbacks in NFL history to throw four touchdown passes in one half of a game.· Indianapolis quarterback MATT HASSELBECK completed 23 of 32 passes (71.9 percent) for 213 yards and two touchdowns in the Colts’ 24-21 win at Atlanta. Hasselbeck, who turned 40 on September 25, improved to 3-0 as a starter this season and joins Pro Football Hall of Famer WARREN MOON (four) and BRETT FAVRE (four) as the only quarterbacks to win at least three consecutive starts after their 40th birthday in the Super Bowl era.· Denver quarterback BROCK OSWEILER completed 20 of 27 passes (74.1 percent) for 250 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions for a 127.1 passer rating in the Broncos’ 17-15 win at Chicago. Osweiler, who turned 25 years old today, is the only quarterback in the Super Bowl era to make his first career start and win on his birthday.· Dallas wide receiver DEZ BRYANT had a 16-yard touchdown catch in the Cowboys’ 24-14 win at Miami. Bryant has a touchdown catch in 13 consecutive interconference games, the longest such streak in the NFL since the 1970 merger. The touchdown marked the 50th between Bryant and quarterback TONY ROMO, the most by a QB-WR tandem in franchise history, surpassing Pro Football Hall of Famers TROY AIKMAN and MICHAEL IRVIN (49).· Houston defensive end J.J. WATT had eight tackles, including five tackles for a loss, and two sacks in the Texans’ 24-17 win against the New York Jets. Watt now has 19 career multi-sack games, tying Pro Football Hall of Famer RICHARD DENT for the second-most of any player in his first five NFL seasons. Only Hall of Famer REGGIE WHITE (24) had more multi-sack games in his first five seasons since the statistic became official in 1982.
