The Buffalo Bills didn’t take to the field Sunday, but got a ton of help from around the rest of the AFC when it comes to the tightly contested AFC playoff race.

The Bills (5-4) are in Foxborough, MA to take on the New England Patriots (9-0) this evening on Monday Night Football.
With a win, Buffalo improves to 6-4 and will leapfrog the Pittsburgh Steelers (6-4) to take control of 5th place in the standings, due to the Bills’ better AFC record (6-3 compared with Pittsburgh’s 3-6).
With a loss, the Bills would drop to 5-5, which would put them into a tie for spots six through nine in the conference. Their 5-4 (.556) conference mark would drop them below Kansas City’s 4-2 (.667) mark, as the Chiefs would leapfrog Buffalo into a playoff spot.
A loss would also move them behind the Houston Texans 5-5, 4-3 AFC record (.571 average), leaving Buffalo eighth in the conference.
The Bills remain in control of their fate, as even a loss tonight would not be the final nail in the coffin for them.
Buffalo still plays all three teams they would be tied with if they lose tonight.
The Bills travel to Arrowhead next week to take on the Kansas City Chiefs, before heading home the following week to take on the Texans.
The Bills end their season January 3rd with a home game against the New York Jets.
