It turns out that Bronco’s executive vice president of football operations/general manager John Elway didn’t have to look too far to find his next head coach.
He’ll be turning over the duties to a familiar face.
Kubiak, who was Elway’s back up for all nine years he was in the NFL, previously spend eight seasons with the Houston Texans as their head coach before becoming most recently serving as the Baltimore Raven’s offensive coordinator this past season. 
Kubiak compiled a record of 61-64 during his time with Houston, with two straight AFC South champions and playoff appearances. He has the only franchise playoff wins
for the Texans as well, finishing 2-2 for his career in the post-season.
For his work in Baltimore this year, the Ravens set franchise records in points per game (25.6) and yards per game (364.9), improving from 29th to 12th this season.
Kubiak wasted no time in starting to fill out his coaching staff, as reports are emerging that Ravens quarterbacks coach Rick Dennison and tight ends coach Brian Pariani will be following him to Denver.
Elway, Kubiak and the rest of the Broncos organization will be looking to get the team over the hump, and into another Super Bowl appearance.
