VIDEO – With the NBA cancelling its preseason and no end to the lockout in sight, players are looking to play European basketball and find other outlets for their talents. What about LeBron James making a move to the NFL?
James laced up the pads with the Akron St. Vincent-St.Mary varsity football team this week
“I not gonna lie, it was pretty cool to see him out there,” said starting quarterback Kevin Besser.
“He caught everything, he didn’t drop a pass,” the quarterback said. “I probably threw six or seven passes his way and he went up and got everything.”
A 6-foot-8, 250 pound receiver with sticky hands and the athletic ability of James would be nearly impossible to defend against. James did play football in high school – see the short video clip below.
After practice, James sent out a note via Twitter, “Just got done practicing with the St.V Varsity football team, full pads and all.. Felt great being back on the field. Should I?”
While it’s unlikely that James would risk the pounding of playing with NFL players, it would be fun to see him operating in the red zone. Only one question – the Browns or Dolphins?
