Breaking: Percy Harvin Traded to New York Jets

A year and a half after the Seahawks traded 1st and 7th round picks in the 2013 draft, and a 4th round pick in the 2014 draft for Percy Harvin, who was a key player in the Super Bowl win against the Broncos last February, has already been jettisoned.

According to Fox Sports NFL insider Jay Glazer, Harvin has been traded to the New York Jets for a conditional draft pick. Harvin signed a six year, $67 million contract when he was traded from the Minnesota Vikings to Seattle in March of 2013, and currently has 22 catches for 133 yards, and 11 carries for 92 yards and a touchdown.

The move gives the Jets a speedy wide receiver to pair with the physical Eric Decker, a huge addition for a team that is 30th in the league in points per game (173.). The timing of the trade allows New York to have more than a week to work Harvin into the offense before a divisional match-up on Sunday, October 26th against the Buffalo Bills.
