Adrian Clayborn to Buccaneers at No. 20

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who surprised everybody by nearly making the playoffs in 2010, upgraded their defensive line by taking Iowa defensive end Adrian Clayborn with the 20th pick in the NFL draft.

Analysis: Clayborn may have been a bit of a reach at the N0. 20 spot — i.e., the Bucs probably could have traded down a bit and still got him if he was the guy they really wanted. He comes with some injury concerns related to his shoulder, but he’s an every-down D-lineman who showed toughness and strong leadership skills in college. If last year’s first-rounder, Gerald McCoy, steps up his production in his second year, the Bucs could quickly be building a tough defensive line.
