Houston Texans took on the Miami Dolphins at home Saturday in their second week of preseason games. Houston defeated the Dolphins 24-17 to go 2-0 and remain undefeated.
This week’s matchup between Miami and Houston featured two teams that were coming off victories last week. With the Dolphins in their third week of the preseason, starters saw a few more minutes on the field. While on the Texans side, starters such as J.J. Watt and Matt Schaub only saw few drives from scrimmage in their second week of the preseason.
Coming off a 12-4 record in 2012, the Houston Texans were lead by J.J. Watt and one of the best defenses in the league. Matt Schaub is also a key part in in leading the Texans to victory. Schaub saw three drives on the field today and was 8-11 with one touchdown.
Miami looks for their 2nd year quarterback to come through in the clutch this year. After coming off of a 7-9 season they are trying to breakthrough and become the next emerging team to make it to the playoffs. Tannehill had a good day today as he went 10 for 15 with 141 yards and one touch down.
Starters for Miami were left on the field for about five drives but that did not stop Houston as they ended up taking the game away from the Dolphins and winning 24-17.
Miami takes on Tampa Bay (0-2) next week at home while Houston battles the undefeated Saints at Reliant Stadium.
