Von Miller is one of the named plaintiffs in the Brady vs. NFL lawsuit, but that didn’t hurt his draft stock one bit. The Denver Broncos selected the former Texas A&M linebacker with the second pick in the NFL draft Thursday night. A very emotional Miller took a while to make it to the stage after learning of his selection and gave commissioner Roger Goodell, who’s been hearing the boos from the crowd all night and is technically being sued by Miller, a huge hug.
Analysis: Many thought Miller would fit better as linebacker in a 3-4 defense, but it appears the Broncos will convert him to a 4-3 defensive end. He’s a bit undersized for that position, but his speed, skills and overall athleticism have drawn comparisons to the late Chiefs star Derrick Thomas, and he should fit in any scheme.
