Running back Brian Westbrook is going to be honored this weekend by being inducted into the DeMatha High School Hall of Fame, in Hyattsville, MD. Westbrook, currently a free agent, attended DeMatha and still owns and operates a horse farm in Maryland.
Westbrook is one of 3 DeMatha alums to become NFL All-Pro players, and the first to reach a Super Bowl. The other two All-Pro players from DeMatha are linebacker Mike Johnson, who played with the Browns and Lions, and linebacker Cameron Wake, who played with the Giants and Dolphins.
Westbrook was a true dual threat, and is one of only 15 players to have amassed over 10,000 yards from scrimmage in his career, with 6,335 yards on the ground and 3,940 yards in the air. He also scored 41 TDs running the ball and another 30 TDs as a receiver.
The induction is Sunday, October 23, 2011 at 4:00pm.
