Patriots receiver Wes Welker was seen wearing a soft cast on his right wrist in the locker room on Thursday. There has been no wrist injury disclosed for Welker and he indicated that he will explain the cast on Friday when he speaks to the media.
Welker was listed as limited in practice for Thursday with a knee injury, and seemed to be using his right hand effectively, so the absence of a formal report would suggest that the cast has no bearing on his availability for Sunday’s game against the Washington Redskins. Welker is leading the league with 1,253 receiving yards and 93 receptions. He is currently on pace for 1,670 receiving yards and 124 reception.
