The Washington Redskins talent evaluators will be in Mobile, Alabama this week to get an in-person look at some of the top talent in the 2015 NFL Draft. This will be Scot McCloughan’s first Senior Bowl as General Manager of the team.
It wouldn’t be surprising if a few future Redskins suit-up for this game. There’s always player(s) who tend to raise their stock at the Senior Bowl. For McCloughan, most recently, he fell in love with Russell Wilson at the Senior Bowl. So, it’s a game that certainly packs some top tier talent.
The Washington Redskins have needs across the board. But below I’ll list rankings of the positions I believe the Redskins could upgrade in April’s draft. Senior Bowl Offensive Rankings
Senior Bowl Defensive Tackles:
(star)
****1. Danny Shelton, Washington: This guy may end up being the second best defensive player in the draft. He’s a rarity when it comes to Nose Tackles. There’s really only three of his kind in the NFL right now — Haloti Ngata, Vince Wilfork and Dantari Poe.
2. Michael Bennett, Ohio State
3. Carl Davis, Iowa
4. Gabe Wright, Auburn
5. Graddy Jarrett, Clemson
Best of the rest:
Joey Mbu, Houston; Kaleb Eulls, Mississippi State; Louis Trinca-Passat, Iowa
Senior Bowl Defensive Ends:
1. Hau’oil Kikaha, Washington
2. Owamagbe Odighiuwa, UCLA
3. Nate Orchard, Utah
4. Markus Golden, Mizzou
5. Trey Flowers, Arkansas
Best of the rest:
Preston Smith, Miss. State; Za’Darius Smith, Kentucky; Henry Anderson, Stanford
Senior Bowl Cornerbacks:
1. Quinten Rollins, Miami (OH)
2. Senquez Golson, Ole Miss
3. Kevin Johnson, Wake Forest
4. Ladarius Gunter, Miami
5. Eric Rowe, Utah
Best of the rest:
Doran Grant, Ohio State; Steven Nelson, Oregon State; JaCory Shepard, Kansas
Senior Bowl Outside Linebackers:
1. Zach Hodges, Harvard
2. Lorenzo Mauldin, Louisville
3. Lynden Trail, Norfolk
4. Geneo Grissom, Oklahoma
5. Jordan Hicks, Texas
Best of the rest:
Martell Spaight, Arkansas; Mike Hull, Penn State
Senior Bowl Inside Linebackers:
1. Eric Kendricks, UCLA (Update: Opted out Senior Bowl)
2. Denzel Perryman
3. Ramik Wilson, Georgia
4. Stephone Anthony, Clemson
5. Jeff Luc, Cincinnati
Best of the rest:
Hayes Pullard, USC; Amarlo Herrera, Georgia
Senior Bowl Safeties:
1a. Cody Prewitt, Ole Miss
1b. Kurtis Drummond, Michigan State
– Both are Strong Safeties to me. But of the two, I think Drummond has a chance to prove he has some range at the Senior Bowl. Interested in seeing these two compete.
2. Jaquiski Tartt, (SS), Samford
3. Derron Smith, (FS), Fresno State
4. Anthony Harris, (SS), Virginia
5. Clayton Geathers, (SS), UCF
Best of the rest:
Anthony Jefferson, UCLA; Adrian Amos, Penn State; Ibraheim Campbell, Northwestern
