Washington Redskins: 2016 NFL Draft Offensive Rankings and Board

The 2016 NFL Draft kicks-off on Thursday. Below we’ll rank offensive players by position with a focus on the Washington Redskins. All ranks are off personal film study. Between rounds of the draft we’ll update the lists and dig deeper for you to use as a guide.

(* denotes out of reach players)

Quarterback:

*Jared Goff, Carson Wentz and Paxton Lynch

  1. Christian Hackenberg, PSU
  2. Brandon Allen, Arkansas
  3. Dak Prescott, MSU
  4. Connor Cook, Michigan State
  5. Cardale Jones, Ohio State

  • Throughout the pre-draft process, I’ve become more and more intrigued by Christian Hackenberg. I went and watched his entire pro-day and it was one of the more impressive workouts I’ve seen in some time. Of course, the film leaves a lot to be desired. But the player appears to be coachable and if the flaws get fixed — he’ll be the steal of the draft. Hands down.

Running Backs:

*Ezekiel Elliot

  1. Jonathan Williams, Arkansas
  2. Derrick Henry, Alabama
  3. Paul Perkins, UCLA
  4. Kenneth Dixon, Louisiana Tech

Tied: Alex Collins, Jordan Howard, Wendall Smallwood and Kevin Taylor

  • If healthy, Jonathan Williams has a chance to be the best running back from this class, in my opinion. He has exceptional balance, feet and vision. He reminds me of a young Tiki Barber.

Interior Offensive Line:

  1. Cody Whitehair, G/C/T,  K-State
  2. Joshua Garnett, G, Stanford
  3. Ryan Kelly, C,  Alabama
  4. Nick Martin, G/C,  Notre Dame
  5. Max Tuerk, C, USC

Guys I like: Darrell Greene, Landon Turner, Sebastian Tretola and Evan Boehm

  • Cody Whitehair is kind of like the Joel Bitonio of this draft. He’s not flashy, but he’s extremely versatile and should be an All-Pro early in his career. This is a pretty deep draft for interior lineman — both offense and defense. I like all the guys listed. Ryan Kelly has received some late buzz and could go round one.

Wide Receivers:

  1. Laquon Treadwell, Ole Miss
  2. Corey Coleman, Baylor
  3. Michael Thomas, OSU
  4. Josh Doctson, TCU

Tied: Sterling Shepard and Charone Peake

  • Michael Thomas was one of the first prospects I started to study during the season last year. He instantly became a favorite of mine. However, the more I studied Treadwell, the more I really formed a true understanding of his game. He’s an old school player. He has some Michael Irvin in his game. He’s a premier player in this draft to me who is being over-analyzed. Charone Peake could be the sneaky steal at the position in this draft.
